black sessions group

NO BAE ZONE!

Well, that line seemed to have been trending all night at our previous Black Sessions

at the colourful yet elegant rooftop venue in Braamfontein, The Park. On Saturday, 4th of October

over 300 cool kids of Jo’burg came out to turn their spring groove on and have a feel of our

premium lifestyle. DJ Killa-Mo set off the mood smoothly as the sun set to an epic evening followed

by DJs Enzo, Radix and Sliqe on the decks.

BlackSessions 4 Oct

No event is complete without TJ (Mr Rock Reps) who held things down so well as the MC, he sure

knows how to rock a crowd. Besides the ladies going crazy over TJ, the gents also had their fair

share of the ‘mami game’

TJ

A couple of people had the privilege to celebrate their birthdays with us, where they had lots of

shots, cake and firework display. With a…

What Exactly Is the Point of Owning A Dishwashing Machine If I Can Wash My Dishes Myself

Modern kitchen appliances are specifically designed to make our lives as easy as possible. Washing dishes by hand is not the most exciting task in the kitchen, in fact if we didn’t have to I’m sure we wouldn’t.

home_content_diamond

Washing dishes is both dirty and necessary but what are the pros and cons of having a dishwasher as part of your kitchen arsenal?

REASONS TO OWN A DISHWASHER

  1. Dishwashers are very economical. It will cut down your water expenses at the end of every month.
  2. Having a dishwasher can save you valuable time. Time is money and nowadays most of us can’t afford to spend time washing the dishes when there are other things to do.
  3. After hosting a party or having a large family meal the last thing that will be on your mind is the dishes. Taking a few minutes to gather all the dirty dishes and placing them in the dishwasher is not only easy but it’s also convenient.

THE COUNTER ARGUMENT

  1. Washing dishes by hand is really not that difficult at all. After all, dishwashers are rather expensive.
  2. Dishwashers require electricity and specific detergents, which is additional spending which may be out of your budget.
  3. Once you’ve bought your dishwasher you now need a place in your kitchen for this lumpy appliance. They are large and bulky
  4. and require a large space with both a water and electricity supply close-by.
  5. Dishwashers aren’t always perfect. Sometimes your dishwasher won’t do the best of jobs first time round so you may have to re-
  6. wash the uncleansed dishes.

The choice is yours at the end of the day so be sure to consider all the factors necessary before you make your purchase, and in todays time finding the time to do so might not be possible and that is no excuse to be lazy because at the end of the day ‘you’ will have to pack the machine, right?

What are your views on this topic, share your thoughts below. This post is sponsored by Finish: The Dishwashing Expert, read about more tips on dishwashing and household chores on their website.

SA Artists Not given A Chance

Image

The country was on steroids last night as the MTV MAMAs were hosted in Durban. We saw the likes of ‘Mr Steal Yo Girl’ himself, Trey Songz, Miguel and French Montana alongside a very sour Khloe Kardashian. I say sour because Madam was acting all sorts of brand new refusing to take pictures with her fans and having extra security with her at the live show.

Imagephoto credit: @ZA_News_

But anyway we just don’t care about her. So can we discuss how our local artist got such little time to perform while the likes of Trey got a chance to showcase an entire concert!! Trey performed 3 songs while our local acts did not even get through one song, talk about unfair. To top it all off the sound was extremely bad. I really don’t understand this. Firstly I believe that every artist who performed there should have gotten an equal amount of time to showcase their talent. We tend to say how much our local artists aren’t getting enough exposure yet when the opportunity comes we overshadow them. Where was KO and Kid X to perform the biggest hip hop song in the country Cara Cara? When are we going to really start supporting local?

I’m not even going to dwell on it too much but thought I’d just let that out of my chest as it did not sit well with me *sigh*

Till next time……
